1. You are entitled to be treated pleasantly and with respect always by your lawyer and the other lawyers and staff in your lawyers office.

3. You are entitled to your legal representatives independent judgement and undivided loyalty which must not be affected by conflicts of interest.
4. You are entitled to be billed a reasonable fee and to have your lawyer detail at the beginning outset how the fee will be computed and the manner and frequency of billing. You are entitled to ask for and receive a written itemized bill from your attorney at reasonable time intervals. You may refuse to agree to any fee arrangement that you do not like. In the event of a fee dispute, you might be able to seek arbitration: your lawyer will give you the necessary information regarding arbitration in case of a fee dispute, or upon being asked.
5. You are entitled to have your worries and concerns answered in a swift manner and to have your phone returned promptly.
6. You are entitled to be kept up to date as to the process of your case and to request and receive copies of relevant papers. You are entitled to sufficient information to allow you to participate meaningfully in the development of your case.
7. You should have your legitimate expectations respected by your lawyer, including whether or not to finalize your matter (court approval of a settlement is required in some cases).
8. You have the right to have privacy in your dealings with your legal representative and to have your secrets and confidences upheld to the extent permitted by law.
